Play. Shop. Eat. Dublin, Ireland

The photo above is a bridge on the way to my families homestead in Milltown, Malbay, County Clare, Ireland (near the Cliffs of Moher). I explored Ireland with my husband on our honeymoon. It was a magical and memorable experience. I met distant relatives, stood in the room my great, great grandfather was born in and fell in love with two coastline towns: Kinsale and Dingle. We started our trip in Dublin. If a trip to Dublin, Ireland is in your future this list will help you discover how to play, shop and eat in the Capitol city.
Play
Go see the Book of Kells at Trinity College. Then sign up to take a bus tour around the downtown core. And no visit to Dublin is complete without a visit to the Guinness factory. The view at the top after your tour as you sip your first glass of beer is a panaromic wonder around the city. The Iveagh Gardens are beautiful place to picnic. And for those that love books like me don't miss the Chester Beatty Library.
Shop
Wool, beads and Celctic treasures abound. And of course whisky stores. Visit Dublin offers a wonderful comprehensive list of stores. Enjoy Powerscourt Centre and be sure to check out George's Street Arcade. Then discover one of the 50 special places to shop in Dublin. Key shopping streets in Dublin include: Temple Bar, Thomas Street, Nassau Street, Chatam Street, Suffolk Street, George Street, Wexford Street and Camden Street.
Eat
Corn beef and cabbage is not a myth in Dublin. Gallagher’s Boxty House serves traditional Irish cuisine. Dax Wine Bar serves seafood and wine. And The Half Moon Crêpe Co offers budget lunch inspired food.

3 Love Notes:
So beautiful! I want to go there! My family is from Ireland too but I am so brain-dead that I forget from where. I'll think about it...it's going to bug me haha! Happy St. Patrick's Day!
I love that your family still lives there! Do you visit often? :) xo
Hey Shannon, I've been to my families homestead only once and plan to go back in a few years :) The family I have there are relatives on my grandfathers side.
