Play. Shop. Eat. Tokyo, Japan

When I traveled to Tokyo, Japan I was blown away at how tall I felt among such petite natives. Check out the photo of me at Asakusa Temple. I was also surprised by the beauty of the museums, stores and temples. Did you know you can buy eggs from vending machines in the country-side there? If a trip to Tokyo, Japan is in your future this list will help you discover how to play, shop and eat in a city with the largest population of people in Japan (no joke, it's crowded there, wall-to-wall people everywhere you go).

Play
Tennis. Seriously, even if you don't play go to the tennis courts in and around Tokyo. Some overlook downtown Tokyo with beautiful views below. Or bolder / rock climb at an indoor gym or outdoor park. For those that enjoy simpler activities check out Asakusa Temple (that's me in front of it, pictured above) and the Tokyo National Museum (with artifacts dating back to 2000 BC!).

Shop
Shinjuku offers the largest number of camera stores in Tokyo. The Ginza is Tokyo's version of the USA's 5th Avenue in New York City. And Takeshita-dori is popular with young urbanites. Shibuya is a great place to boutique shop.

Eat
Unfortunately several American chain restaurants have weaseled their way into Tokyo. There is an abundance of seasonal, fresh food in the fall in Tokyo. And if you love sushi you will love eating here. Check out the Tsukiji Fish Market (there are restaurants there and you can see the wholesale fish market), Namiki Yabusoba (for soba noodles) and Kyubey (famous for their sushi).
