Here are three affordable stores to note:
1. Three Monkeys: lots of vintage and eclectic looks for women. The prices are affordable and there are dresses galore. Three Monkeys is located at 811 N.W. 23rd Ave.
2. Sweet Jayne: everything is $18 or less. Yes, you just read that right. It's women's fashion on a budget. 1914 NE Broadway.
3. Zucari: this store is so beautiful I even told the owner it was "lovely." Home and garden supplies at super affordable prices. Great store for buying someone a gift that you aren't sure what to get. The best part is you're supporting a local store without blowing your budget. 629 NW 23rd Ave.
And three more honorable mentions:
1. Canoe: think modern, practical and museum-type pieces that will boggle your mind. 1136 SW Alder.
2. Frances May: sells women's and men's clothing at a higher price point, the designs are simple but modern. 1013 SW Washington St.
3. West Elm: you've probably seen the catalog, the store is chock full of modern designs. 1201 NW Couch St. Locals pronounce it "cooch" street not "couch" street.
Sound off: Where do you like to shop in Portland?

2 Love Notes:
If you call it Couch street you get corrected very quickly.
Great finds! I would love to check some of those shops out next time we are in Portland. P.S. We stopped at West Elm in Portland on our way back from our honeymoon last year and our GPS pronounced it "cooch" like you said and we thought it was wrong. Guess it wasn't!
